The Brücke and Blauer Reiter artist groups are synonymous with Expressionism in Germany and are also considered to have made a decisive contribution to Classical Modernism in Germany between 1905 and 1914.


The comprehensive exhibition is intended to provide a fresh look at the significance and interaction of these two formations through selected major works. It is the result of a close collaboration between the Von der Heydt Museum Wuppertal, the Buchheim Museum der Phantasie, Bernried am Starnberger See, and the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz (see: www.von-der-heydt-museum.de).
